Congratulations! You are about to embark on an exciting adventure. The Metropolitan Dance Center Teachers Academy offers a vocational dance training program that transforms men and women with little or no prior dance experience into professional dance instructors.

Developed by Ms Diane Jarmalow  in association with  Dance Vision International Dancers Association, a member of the National Dance Council of America, this systematic curriculum produces top quality dance teachers who, upon certification, are ready to fill the demand for teachers in ballroom studios across the country.

You Are a Short Sixteen Months Away from an Exciting New Career!

This intensive and thorough training program will have you in a new career in just 4 semesters! Each semester of instruction consists of 16  1 hours classes with a “Master Teacher”, a nationally certified instructor who will teach you how to dance and how to teach the always in demand American Style Ballroom Dances (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot), Rhythm Dances (Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, Mambo) and popular Night Club Dances (Argentine Tango, Hustle & Lindy Hop)!  Semester 1 teaches you the American Smooth Dances, Semester 2 and 3 the Rhythm dances, and Semester 4 the Nightclub Dances. You can begin your course of study at the start of any of the 4 semesters.

This comprehensive program is held every Saturday from 10AM to 3PM. Two hours of instruction with your Master Teacher, one hour for lunch, and then two more hours of instruction. Each Saturday session teaches you all there is to know about ballroom dancing as well as learning to dance yourself.  At the conclusion, your successful exams will make you a Certified Professional Instructor through DVIDA, The Dance Vision International Dancers Association. The tuition for this comprehensive program is $495 per person per month. Tuition is payable at the beginning of every month. We accept all major credit cards as well as personal check.  Tuition is non-refundable once classes have commenced.
